Effective-interest amortization
Premium and discount amortized on the effective-interest method, with amortized cost and accrued interest maintained per holding — not re-keyed each month into a spreadsheet that nobody can audit.
FI Investment Tracker is a purpose-built securities subledger for U.S. credit unions and community banks — the institutions that have outgrown spreadsheets but don't want their investment book living in a vendor's cloud. It handles effective-interest amortization, premium/discount, MBS/CMO factor-based paydown, month-end close, GL tie-out, reconciliation, and the NCUA 5300 / FFIEC RC-B support your team rebuilds every quarter. And it's local-first: your portfolio data stays on your own machine, in an encrypted local database — it never travels to a vendor cloud.
General accounting platforms treat investments as an afterthought, and spreadsheets can't enforce the amortization math, the paydown factors, or the controls an examiner expects. FI Investment Tracker is an investment subledger software built around how credit union and community bank accounting and operations teams actually close the month — the vocabulary, the reports, and the tie-outs are theirs.
Premium and discount amortized on the effective-interest method, with amortized cost and accrued interest maintained per holding — not re-keyed each month into a spreadsheet that nobody can audit.
Factor-based paydown for mortgage-backed and CMO holdings, posted at month-end so principal, factor, and current face stay correct without manual rebuilds.
Run the close in one controlled place and tie the subledger back to your general ledger, so the numbers your controller signs match the numbers in the book.
Build the support packages behind NCUA 5300 and FFIEC RC-B reporting from the same source of record, instead of assembling them by hand every quarter.
Reconcile holdings, accrual, and balances against your prior period and your GL, with reconciling items surfaced rather than buried in a workbook tab.
Produce examiner- and auditor-ready evidence from the subledger itself — the same controlled records your team works in all month.
Your portfolio records live in an encrypted database on your own machine, with on-device restore points — under your controls, in your building.
Every release is code-signed by GRANITE HALL SOLUTIONS LLC — the verified publisher your IT team sees on install — and ships with a published SHA-256 checksum to confirm the exact file is authentic.
Two things tend to hold an FI investment book back: spreadsheets that can't enforce the accounting, and cloud platforms that require you to hand your portfolio data to a vendor. FI Investment Tracker is built to avoid both.
Spreadsheets don't enforce effective-interest amortization, paydown factors, or close controls — every month is a manual rebuild, and every formula is a place an error can hide. The subledger keeps one controlled, auditable record instead, so the math is done correctly and consistently rather than re-keyed.
Cloud investment platforms put your portfolio holdings, imports, GL balances, and reconciliation files on a vendor's servers — which is exactly the surface a security review exists to scrutinize. With FI Investment Tracker there is no hosted copy to breach, because your data never leaves your machine. That also means a faster vendor review: there's no data-residency questionnaire to clear and no hosted portfolio to onboard.
FI Investment Tracker is local-first by design. Your holdings, imports, GL balances, and reconciliation files stay in an encrypted database on your own computer — they're never sent to a vendor cloud, so there's no hosted copy for anyone to lose, leak, or hold hostage. You install it on your own machine, your records stay on that machine, and your IT and security team can verify it before and after purchase. See the full architecture and what your reviewers can check on the security page.
We're a new company, and we won't pretend otherwise or claim certifications we haven't earned. We don't yet hold a SOC 2 attestation. A SOC 2 mostly attests to how a vendor protects data it hosts on your behalf — and in our model there's no hosted copy of your portfolio data to protect, because it never leaves your machine. That architecture is the point: it removes the very vendor-cloud risk a security review exists to catch, so your team can evaluate and adopt the product without a six-month procurement cycle. As the company grows, our security program will grow with it — and we'll keep telling you plainly where we stand. More on who we are is on the company page.
If your investment book lives in the legacy ACE / AIR tool, your accounting carries over. Export ACE's invfixvc.csv, choose the Legacy AIR / ACE import profile, and amortized cost, accrual, premium/discount, factor, WAC/WAM, CPR/PSA, call dates, and step schedules come across — non-CUSIP holdings import on their account number. Reconcile against your last report from the old system to prove the tie-out, then save the mapping for future imports. See the ACE / AIR replacement guide for the full walkthrough.
